A You Tube video features Greg Stone, senior vice president of Conservation International, in which he discusses the importance of creating an Ocean Health Index, with the aim of fostering the conservation of our oceans in a systemic and highly effective manner. “Decision makers are confused about what is the most important priority,” he says. “We need to work together. We need the genius of the business community to help solve this problem. The Ocean Health Index will prioritize all ocean threats and all the remedial measures society can take to mitigate those threats in a fashion that can be used strategically to implement ocean conservation programs. It will be like a report card or the Dow Jones Industrial Average of the ocean.”
