The Road to Commercialization: Advanced Biofuels in the Public and Private Sectors - The Pew Charitable Trusts

Advanced biofuels, currently being tested and used by the Department of Defense as well as several commercial airlines, offer the nation a real opportunity to diversify and increase its use of domestic fuels. This session will focus on the important role the public and private sectors can play in bringing these fuels to market in order to enhance security and provide widespread economic benefits.

Clean Energy Business Showcase - Pew Clean Energy Program

Pew’s Clean Energy Program, in partnership with Solar Services and Virginia Clean Cities, will host an event to discuss the importance of clean energy investments to the U.S. and Virginia. Sample electric vehicles will be on site and there will be a tour of the Solar Services’ electric vehicle plug-in station.

A Tour with Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm: Veolia Energy North America - Pew Environment Group

This plant tour with former Michigan Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm, will examine how waste heat from the power production process is recycled and converted into useful thermal energy (steam). This environmentally-friendly, cogenerated “green steam” is imported from Cambridge to Boston. The waste heat recovery allows Veolia Energy to consume less natural gas in its production process and represents about 50 percent of the steam delivered to Veolia Energy’s customers in Boston.
