Faith Kearns joined the Pew Environment Group in 2009 and is an officer with the Ocean Science Division, where she helps campaign staff develop and integrate scientific information using a variety of scientific, technical and communications approaches.
Previously, Kearns managed a wildfire research and outreach center at the University of California, Berkeley; served as an American Association for the Advancement of Science diplomacy fellow in the Office of Ocean Affairs and Marine Conservation at the U.S. State Department; and developed science outreach projects with the Ecological Society of America. She is the author of several peer-reviewed publications on such issues as freshwater ecology, geospatial approaches to natural resource management, and science communication.
Kearns holds an undergraduate degree in environmental geology from Northern Arizona University and a doctorate in environmental science, policy and management from the University of California, Berkeley.
