Doug Scott joined the Pew Environment Group in 2010 when the Campaign for America’s Wilderness merged with Pew.

Before Pew, Scott managed a local environmental group in the San Juan Islands of Washington State and worked at the Wilderness Society. He spent 17 years with the Sierra Club in such positions as conservation director and associate executive director. He was involved in the enactments of the Eastern Wilderness Areas Act (1975), the Endangered American Wilderness Act (1978), the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness (Idaho, 1980), the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act (1980) and the California Desert Protection Act (1994), among others.

Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in forestry from the University of Michigan.
